Please check the mail for census forms from the Town Clerk. These forms are used for updating our Street List and ensuring accurate voter information. Please make corrections and sign before returning. If you did not receive a census form, please call the Town Clerk at 863-8103.
The census mailing also gives you the opportunity to license dogs by mail. Please register your pet as soon as you can. The fee is $5 if the dog is spayed or neutered and $10 for all others. All dogs must be licensed by March 31st to avoid a late fee.
2017 Annual Town Election
The Annual Town Election will be held on Monday, May 15, 2017 from Noon to 8:00 PM at the Fire Station (196A Main Road). The deadline to register to vote at the Annual Town Election is 8:00 PM on Wednesday April 26, 2017 at the Town Clerk's office. Special hours for voter registration will also be held at Town Hall on Tuesday, April 25th from 2-4 PM and 7-8 PM.
The offices and incumbent officers on the ballot this year include: Selectboard, Sewer Commissioner, three year term, currently held by Gregory Snedeker Board of Assessors, three year term, Vacant Board of Assessors, two year term, currently held by William Tomb Cemetery Commission, three year term, currently held by Carrie Stevens Tax Collector, three year term, currently held by Veronica LaChance Board of Health, three year term, currently held by Edward Galipault Library Trustee, three year term, currently held by Megan Bathory-Peeler Constable, three year term, currently held by Fred Chase, II Constable, three year term, currently held by Fred Chase, III Constable, three year term, currently held by Craig Gaudry Tree Warden, one year term, Vacant
Nomination papers are available at the Town Clerk's office. Twenty-five signatures of Gill registered voters are necessary to run for office. The last day to submit nomination papers to the Town Clerk is 5:00 PM on March 27, 2017.
Rabies Clinic - Saturday, April 1, 2017, NOON - 2 PM
There will be a rabies vaccination clinic on Saturday, April 1st from NOON to 2 PM at the Franklin County Regional Dog Shelter, 10 Sandy Lane, Turners Falls. The cost is $20 per pet. All dogs must be leashed and all cats must be in carriers. No appointment is necessary. Veterinary services provided by Brookside Animal Hospital.
