Municipal Vulnerability Preparedness

Gill Nearing Completion of MVP Plan

After completing two public workshops to gather information related to Gill's Municipal Vulnerability Preparedness Plan, Town officials will be presenting key findings at a Public Listening Session to be held on Monday, March 23, 2026 in conjunction with the Selectboard's meeting scheduled for that night. The listening session will begin at 5:30 PM and will be held at the Town Hall, 325 Main Road. Time will be set aside for questions & answers and to receive public comment on the draft plan.

A draft of the MVP Plan report and a draft of the Town's Community Resilience Building Risk Matrix are available for review and may be downloaded from the Files section below.

Gill Begins Work on Municipal Vulnerability Preparedness (MVP) Plan

Gill has received a grant from the State to develop a Municipal Vulnerability Preparedness Plan, which will result in the town being designated as an “MVP Community.” This MVP status will allow Gill to apply for implementation grants to build projects and advance work that helps the Town be more resilient and prepared for the lasting effects of climate change. The Plan will examine both the strengths and vulnerabilities in town, particularly looking from the three perspectives of infrastructure, people, and natural resources. The Town will be working with the Franklin Regional Council of Governments (FRCOG) to complete this project.

The Town will be hosting two public workshops over the next 2 months to collect information from municipal officials and residents to develop our MVP plan. The first meeting will focus on identifying which features of Gill’s infrastructure, society, and environment are most vulnerable to the impacts of climate change, followed by a meeting to develop an action plan to address identified vulnerabilities.

Please attend! We are trying to get a broad range of community members to participate and we welcome all who can participate for any length of time.
