The 2020 U.S. Census is happening NOW and it has never been easier to respond on your own, whether online, over the phone, or by mail—all without having to meet a census taker.
The 2020 U.S. Census is SAFE, EASY, and IMPORTANT!
• Private information gathered is safe, confidential, and cannot be shared with anyone.
It takes just a few minutes to complete the 2020 U.S. Census:
• Online at https://my2020census.gov/
• By phone in 13 languages: English 844-330-2020; Spanish 844-468-2020 (for more languages visit https://2020census.gov/languages). Phone lines open 7am to 2am Eastern Time.
• By mail: You will receive a paper copy in the mail. Fill it out and return it by mail.
The number of people counted in the 2020 U.S. Census will be used for the next TEN years to impact how much federal and state money comes to our community to help pay for:
• SNAP benefits
• and more.
A 3% undercount in Franklin County will mean we will lose about $50 million in state and federal funds over a ten-year period.
