1. Approve minutes from the GHC meeting on Dec. 14, 2021

2. Treasurer’s business and report (Charlene with Pam and Terri)

a. GHC meeting space re: COVID precautions =?? (discussion)

d. Battlefield Advisory Board meeting on Jan. 5:

Discussion centered on events that may have connected to the Northfield Council Fires. Joe Graveline of the Northfield Historical Commission has assembled a list of 14 sources that GHC will get, which predate the writing of historian George Sheldon to inform research into the Council fires. The Advisory Board has given GHC a print copy of the latest Battlefield report, with a lot of interesting detail about King Philip’s War etc.

The next Advisory Board meeting is on Feb. 2, Montague Town Hall, 11:00 a.m.

e. Walking tour: RiverCulture’s Zoom meeting on Dec. 15 went over plans for the next few months (see email sent before our December meeting of plans written by David Brule). Current plans are summarized in the Montague Reporter (Jan. 6) (copies distributed here). Of eight stories planned so far, our story will appear after several Native American narratives (in the middle of the tour, as a bridge). GHC will create a story about logging activities as described in the Riverside book, to be followed by two or more industrial pieces by the Montague Historical Society. (discussion). f. New site plan review: Erving-Gill Route 2 Resurfacing (using federal funds) (Kit)

Resurfacing Project = 2 ½ miles through Gill (Chappell Lane) to French King Bridge + 1.75 mi. from bridge into Erving to Old State Rd. (discussion) MassDOT has invited GHC to make comments re: historic or archaeological properties that might be affected (if any).

a. Followup on requests for the town of Gill: discussion (continued)

Anchorage maintenance: oil cables and trim weed growth, town’s role: (Kit)

c. GHC Inquiry update: researcher filming the history of the French King Bridge (Pam, Lynda, Charlene)

d. Collection and exhibit updates; uses of west wall space (Pam, Kit, discussion)
