February 22, 6pm, at the Gill Fire Station training room
The Gill Police, Fire and Emergency Management departments have announced a free "Stop the Bleed" class will be held Saturday, February 22nd, at 6pm at the Gill Fire Station in the training room. Parking will be in the back of the complex.
This 1-hour class will focus on teaching the public basic skills to stop traumatic bleeding using a variety of techniques and equipment. Uncontrolled bleeding remains the No. 1 cause of preventable death.
The class is open and appropriate for residents ages 16 and older, with first preference given to Gill residents. All supplies are provided and students will be sent a certificate following the class. There is a limit of 20 people, but if there is sufficient interest, they'll put out another class.
