RMB Railing Upgrade Underway
Bringing compliance to the Riverside Municipal Building
In March 2026, a review by the FRCOG Building Commissioner identified several changes needed to bring the Riverside Municipal Building into compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) for use as a public building.
One of the identified changes was to repair the railings on the entrance ramp to the main entrance. After studying the requirements and materials options, work on bringing the railings into compliance with the ADA is now underway.
A four-person group of volunteers worked for several hours on Tuesday (Sept. 8):
-
Removing the badly-deteriorated existing railing
-
Preparing the mounting surfaces for the new railings at the required heights
The next work session on the railings has not yet been scheduled, but additional volunteers are needed.
