This year's Annual Town Meeting will be held on Monday, May 7th at 6:30 PM at the Town Hall. Here is a link to the meeting warrant, motions, and explanations: Handout for 5/7 Town Meeting .
The Town Meeting includes warrant articles on a variety of topics, including: accepting a gift of 0.08 acres of land on River Road near Main Road, adopting a local excise tax on retail sales of marijuana in Gill, appropriating funds toward the Town’s 225th Anniversary celebrations (including fireworks), authorizing the Selectboard to participate in contracts to aggregate the electricity load of Town residents and businesses, and adopting Mass. General Law chapter 90 section 18B allowing roads to be designated as “Safety Zones” with enforceable 20 MPH speed limits.
Most financial matters, except for votes on funds toward the 225th Anniversary celebrations and the FY19 operating assessment for the Gill-Montague Regional School District, will be postponed to a "Part 2" meeting to be held on Tuesday, June 19th at 7:00 PM.
