The Franklin County Solid Waste Management District is holding its spring "Clean Sweep" bulky waste collection on Saturday, May 14, from 9 a.m. to 12 noon. The three drop-off sites are: the Mohawk High School on Rt. 112 in Buckland, the Northfield Highway Garage at 49 Caldwell Road off Rt. 142, and the Whately Transfer Station on Christian Lane off Rt. 10.
Residents may bring a wide range of bulky items such as tires, appliances, scrap metal, furniture, mattresses, carpeting, construction debris, computers, monitors, televisions, BBQ grill tanks, bulky rigid plastic, and other bulky items. Materials will be recycled whenever possible.
Residents do not need to pre-register for the bulky waste collection. However, there are charges for disposal. Disposal fees, in cash only, will be collected at each site. A complete list of prices for the most common items will be available at town halls, town transfer stations, and online at: /files/CleanSweep_flyer_May_2022_final2.pdf
Businesses may participate.
