Specialized Telephones for People with Disabilities
The Massachusetts State 911 Department, administers MassEDP as required by Mass. General Law, Chapter 223, of the Acts of 2008.
Funding for MassEDP is provided through a surcharge on all voice and data telephone lines. This surcharge funds Massachusetts ehanced 911 emergency and disablity services, such as Massachusetts Relay Service and Speicalized Telephone Equipment Program. There are several kinds specialized telephones available.
The MassEDP is a service that provides residents with a permanent disablitiy, access to specilized telephones for free or at a reduced cost, depending on income.
