The Gill-Montague Senior Center is holding a Senior Tech Time 6-week computer laptop class on Thursdays from 3:30 - 5:30 PM running from April 25 through May 30, 2024. Classes will be held at the Senior Center, 62 5th St, Turners Falls.
The class is open to adults age 60 and over who do not have a working computer, have little or no computer skills, and want to learn the basics. The class will be taught by instructors from the Franklin County Technical School. The course will include the basics of using a computer, getting a Google email account, keeping in touch with friends and family, discovering social media sites, protecting your email and passwords, playing fun games, listening to your favorite songs, shopping and banking online, and much more.
A computer will be provided, and after completing all six classes, you will be allowed to keep the computer for your own use.
An application is required to participate in the class. Application forms can be picked up at the Gill Town Hall and at the Senior Center, and can be downloaded by clicking on the following link: Application_for_6-week_Computer_Laptop_Class.pdf Completed applications should be returned to the Senior Center anytime Monday - Friday from 9 AM - 2 PM, and are due on or before April 2, 2024.
This program is funded through the Massachusetts Office of Elder Affairs and the Franklin Regional Council of Governments Mass in Motion program, in partnership with the Gill-Montague Senior Center/Council on Aging, the Town of Montague, and the Programming and Web Design Classes at the Franklin County Technical School.
