Principal Assessor (Part Time, Benefitted)
Position Summary
The Town of Gill, Massachusetts is seeking a qualified and motivated Principal Assessor to manage the valuation of real estate and personal property within the community. Working in collaboration with the Board of Assessors, this position plays a key role in calculating the fiscal year tax rate and in completing the state recap forms necessary to generate municipal revenue in accordance with Massachusetts Department of Revenue (DOR) regulations. The job requires 30 hours/week and is flexible based upon the candidate’s availability. Part-time hours with full-time benefits.
Qualifications & Compensation
The successful candidate must have an Associate degree in a discipline related to business, or a related field, with a preference for a baccalaureate degree; three to five years (3-5) years of experience in assessing or related field; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and certification which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job. Preference for current professional designations of Massachusetts Accredited Assessor (MAA), Residential Massachusetts Assessor (RMA), Certified Massachusetts Assessor (CMA), Mass Appraiser in Training (MAT) or Certified Assessment Administrator (CAA).
Compensation is based on experience and qualifications; pay range starts at $30.46 and increases by years of experience in accordance with the Gill FY 26 Wage Compensation Plan.
